Joseph G. O’Neill of Moorestown passed away on Thursday, May 13. He was 80 years of age. He was born in Philadelphia, on December 12, 1940 and resided in Moorestown for 50 years. Joe was a retired roofer with Local #30 in Philadelphia and was a boxing judge and referee. He was a boxing judge and referee traveling all over the world with his wife Joan by his side. Earlier in life, he owned and operated a gym in Moorestown where he trained boxers. Joe was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed shooting pool and playing darts.
He was the beloved husband of Joan R. O’Neill (Galantino), dear father of Steven O’Neill and Joseph (Chris) O’Neill, cherished grandfather of Courtney, Caelin, Carina, Rachel, Paige and Danielle.
Relatives and friends were invited to the viewing and visitation with his family on Wednesday, May 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mark C. Tilghman Funeral Home located at 38 N. Forklanding Rd. in Maple Shade. The funeral service and interment was private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe’s name to Alzheimers.org. The family requests that others may perform an act of kindness to the elderly.
