After a late-week increase of COVID-19 cases last Thursday and Friday in Gloucester County, case totals have dropped over the past three days.
Gloucester County reported 14 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, eight on Sunday and seven on Monday, marking a third straight day of decreasing numbers. This follows a stretch last week where 18 cases were reported on Thursday and 19 on Friday.
On Saturday, Washington Twp. continued to account for a large number of the cases. Exactly half of the 14 new cases came out of the township, with four of the seven cases involving residents 32 years or younger. Here’s a breakdown of Saturday’s new cases by municipality:

- Monroe Twp. – 1
- Washington Twp. – 7
- West Deptford – 1
- Westville – 1
- Woolwich – 2
Sunday and Monday saw the new positive cases become more scattered. On Sunday, only one municipality reported more than one positive case. Here’s a breakdown:
- Deptford – 2
- Harrison Twp. – 1
- Logan – 1
- Monroe Twp. – 1
- Paulsboro – 1
- Pitman – 1
- Washington Twp. – 1
Monday’s seven new cases were even more scattered, with every positive result coming from a different town. The seven new cases were located in Elk, Mantua, Monroe Twp., Paulsboro, Swedesboro, Washington Twp. and Westville.
No new COVID-19 deaths were confirmed on Saturday or Monday. On Sunday, there were two new deaths reported: a 41-year-old Paulsboro man and a 63-year-old Woolwich man.
