Harrison Township to distribute masks to residents beginning today

Masks will be distributed at Pleasant Valley School three of the next four days.

Harrison Township has announced each home in the township is being issued free medical masks. Distribution for the masks will start today and continue Thursday and Saturday.

Each Household will be issued two standard, non-N95 medical masks based on the township’s tax role list, with special consideration for any resident in the healthcare industry.

Distribution is taking place at Pleasant Valley School today, April 15, from 2 to 6 p.m., Thursday, April 16 from 2 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents will be required to show their ID to a Harrison Township police officer to confirm residency. After this, residents will proceed to the appropriate alphabetical line to be given the two masks. The masks will be taken directly out of the box and handed through the car by a gloved employee wearing a mask. Cars will then be directed out of the parking lot through the Walter’s Road exit.

Those who work in the healthcare industry can receive additional masks by showing a work/facility ID card.

The availability of masks for residents was made possible through various sponsors who were originally sponsoring Harrison Township Day and shifted their sponsorship to the purchase of masks.

Township residents are still asked to stay at home unless absolutely necessary and to not  interpret the mask distribution program as an invitation to leave your home.

Visit the township’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/TownshipofHarrison, for more information on the distribution.
