Moorestown man found dead following weekend house fire

On March 27 at 4:47 p.m., Moorestown Township police, fire and emergency services were dispatched to 19 Moore St. to the report of a house fire. When they arrived, they found the residence heavily involved with fire, according to a release from the Moorestown Township Police Department.

Three residents were able to escape the fire, but after the fire was extinguished, a 61-year-old male was located deceased inside the residence, according to police. The Lenola Fire Department assisted by the Moorestown Fire Department and surrounding mutual aid fire departments subsequently extinguished the fire.  

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to the release. Moorestown Detectives and Moorestown Fire Investigators were assisted with the investigation on scene by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and Burlington County Fire Marshall.
