The coronavirus has affected all of our lives and will continue to do so for the next several weeks. Rest assured that Voorhees Township is closely monitoring the situation, absorbing the avalanche of information pouring in from federal, state and local sources relative to the spread of the virus and its effects on local health care operations, emergency services, commercial businesses, government services and schools .
Town Hall is temporarily closed to the public, but municipal operations are continuing within the restrictions imposed by the state and federal mandates. All of our departments are staffed. However, per government restriction we are only minimally staffed. All correspondence, emails and phone calls will be addressed within a business day.
In a further effort to support social distancing, the municipal parks, including the dog park and playgrounds, will be closed until further notice. All Voorhees Zoning Board and Planning Board meetings will be cancelled through the month of April. We expect to conduct our Township Committee meetings as scheduled with appropriate safety precautions.
Voorhees public safety personnel, including our Police Department, Fire Department, Emergence Medical Service and Public Works will continue to work their normal schedules. The services they provide will not be interrupted.
It is important for all of us to prevent the spread of this virus. Social distancing and avoiding public places will help to “flatten the curve.” Use common sense by washing your hands frequently and keeping a safe distance from others. If you feel sick, stay home. Check on your neighbors, especially if they are alone or elderly.
Communication is important so please check the Township Facebook page and website at www.Voorheesnj.com, where we will post important information as it becomes available. If you have questions, call Town Hall at (856) 429-7757.
