Haddonfield Young Life helps bring out the positive side of today’s youth

In a world that gives some teenagers a bad rap, Young Life is bringing out the positive side of today’s young people and pointing them toward a hopeful future. A growing group of local high school students is actively participating in Haddonfield Young Life. Each week they are filling the living rooms of local homes for live music, games and skits. Through weekly meetings on Tuesday nights, small groups, summer camps, weekend trips and one-on-one time with an adult leader, Young Life leaders build unconditional relationships with teenagers and model God’s love.

Young Life is mainly a volunteer-led organization worldwide and Young Life in Haddonfield is no exception. Young Life leaders, Carmen and Stephanie Pizzo, are currently reaching out to kids at HMHS.

“There’s something special about meeting a teen on their level and earning the right to be a part of their life,” Stephanie said.

There are more than 10 adults on the support committee for Young Life in Haddonfield, working with Carmen and Stephanie and helping to guide the growth of the ministry.

Young Life is a worldwide organization for middle, high school and college students. Staff and volunteers enter the world of kids, focusing on what matters to them — fun, adventure and friendship. In doing so, they earn the privilege of talking to them about something that we think matters most of all — the truth about God and His love for us.

Founded in 1941, Young Life has more the 3,000 staff and 30,000 volunteers and is active in more than 75 countries reaching more than one million kids annually.
