Coding for middle-school girls at Haddonfield Public Library on Saturday

Science geared towards middle-school girls at HPL.

Hosted by Haddonfield Public Library and techgirlz.com, on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m., there will be a free workshop targeted for middle-school girls, in grades 6 through 8.

Attendees will learn how to code a game and create a working game controller using everyday household items and food.

In this workshop, students will use a Makey Makey Inventor’s kit to build a custom keyboard out of unconventional conductive materials, such as fruit and Play-Doh. Students will then pair their keyboard with the game created in Scratch programming in order to connect the digital and physical world. No prior experience is necessary.
