The Moorestown Living History and Ghost Walking Tours presented by the township historical society are an interactive living history look at local historical figures that is planned for later in October.
Tours will be held on Friday, Oct. 11; Saturday, Oct. 12; Friday, Oct. 18; Saturday, Oct. 19; Friday, Oct. 25; Saturday, Oct. 26; and Sunday, Oct. 27.
New historical characters have been summoned and will return to Moorestown to share the town’s history. Tours are led by historians from the Historical Society of Moorestown, founded in 1682. Yes, 1682. So there are stories to share.
Guests are asked to arrive 30 minutes early in order to tour the haunted Smith-Cadbury Mansion and enjoy Colonial music and refreshments on the back patio. The walking tours will begin and end at Smith-Cadbury. Participants should dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring flashlights for their group.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for society members and senior citizens and $10 for students. Children 6 and under are free. Advance tickets can now be purchased online via PayPal. If the 7:30 p.m. tour sells out (50 is the limit) there will be another at 8:30 p.m. There will be only one tour on Saturday, Oct. 12, and Sunday, Oct. 27.
Cash will be accepted only at the door on tour day. It rains, the tour will be held inside the Smith-Cadbury mansion. For more information, contact (856) 235-0353 or email [email protected]. To purchase tickets, visit www.moorestownhistory.org and click on the Calendar tab.
