The right to vote is an important individual liberty and the foundation of free government.
This year’s general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5. State voters will cast ballots for U.S. president, a state senator, one House of Representatives member, Camden County Sheriff, Camden County Clerk, three county commissioners (formerly known as freeholders) and two Voorhees Township committee members.
Voters in New Jersey have three options for voting. Ballots can be cast in person at the polls on Election Day, by mail or by the Early Voting Program. Applications for mail voting can be obtained by visiting the Voorhees Township Clerk’s office, the County Store at the Camden County Elections and Archive Center in Blackwood or online at camdencounty.com/vbm.
Applications for vote by mail ballots in the general election must be received by the Camden County Clerk no later than Tuesday, Oct. 29. Completed ballots must be received by the board of elections before the close of the polls on Election Day or have a postmarked date no later than Nov. 5. They can also be dropped off at the ballot box outside of the front entrance to town hall. The Early Voting Program is from Saturday, Oct. 26 to Sunday, Nov. 3.
Voters can visit any of seven locations throughout Camden County during the early-voting period to cast theirs ballot on a voting machine.

Any voter who is not listed on the voting rolls or is denied the right to vote, and who believes they have been properly registered, can vote by way of a provisional ballot reviewed by the board of elections to determine voter eligibility.
