Suicide Prevention training at the Cherry Hill Public Library

Friends of the Cherry Hill Public Library is having its annual summer book sale from July 21 to July 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the lower conference center. Proceeds will benefit the library. (EMILY LIU/The Sun)

On Monday, Sept. 9, the Cherry Hill Public Library will be hosting a suicide awareness/prevention training in person at the library led by the Tri-State Canine Response team who will go over the QPR method.

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer – three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis. The training and discussion will teach how to question, persuade and refer someone to help. Register on chplnj.org.
