Township man charged with defrauding elderly victim

After an eight-month investigation, a Mantua Township man was charged with defrauding an elderly Washington Township resident of approximately $341,000, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office.

Christopher Fuscellaro, 32, was arrested outside his residence at about 8:30 a.m. on July 23. Between Sept. 7, 2022 and Nov. 16, 2023, he allegedly portrayed himself as a licensed contractor and used fraud and deception to defraud the victim, operating under the names Fuscellaro Construction and Four All Seasons Construction LLC, according to the prosecutor.

Fuscellaro has been charged with theft, theft by deception, theft by required disposition and three counts of insurance fraud. He remains at the Salem County Correctional Facility pending further proceedings.

The investigation remains ongoing. It was conducted by the prosecutor’s major crimes and insurance fraud units and the Washington Township and Mantua police departments.
