Breakfast with the ‘troops’

The Lions Club of Haddonfield will sponsor a breakfast with the troops on Saturday, June 1, Skirmish Day in the borough.

The Colonial-style breakfast will include biscuits, breakfast casseroles and pancakes served from 9 to 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church on 20 Kings Highway.

The public will have an opportunity to meet with the Colonial and British reenactors in their uniforms. The former were instructed by Gen. George Washington to delay the march of Gen. William Howe’s British soldiers from Philadelphia to New York City – right through Haddonfield – in 1778.

The breakfast is also an opportunity to learn about the Skirmish. A full list of activities can be found at HaddonfieldSkirmish.org.

The cost for breakfast is $15 for adults and $10 per child over 12, payable at the door in cash or credit, or on the Lions Club website, haddonfieldlions.org. All proceeds will be donated.
