July 4 celebration to feature local band

In keeping with his promise to revitalize community spirit, Mayor Dave Fleisher is pleased to have Masquerade, a hometown band, at the center of the Independence Day Celebration. The band, which features Cherry Hill resident and Rosa Middle School Vocal Director, Scott Graser, will be performing in the lead up to the fireworks display.

“Anyone who’s been to one of their performances knows that Masquerade puts on a great show,” said Mayor Fleisher. “There is no doubt they will bring the energy and keep everyone engaged as they wait for the fireworks to begin. Plus, it will be great to have a familiar face on stage. Scott, the band’s front man, is a Cherry Hill resident, and a teacher here in town who has made an immense impact in the lives of countless students.”

Earlier this year, Fleisher announced the return of Independence Day Fireworks, following a ten-year hiatus, with the goal of bringing back this Cherry Hill tradition. The event will take place at the Michael J. Santarpio Field at Jonas C. Morris Stadium at Cherry Hill High School West on Wednesday, July 3, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Masquerade will go on at 8:00 PM and play leading up to the fireworks display.

“When Mayor Fleisher called to see if we’d be interested in playing the Independence Day Celebration I was ecstatic,” said Graser. “For so many years, going to the fireworks had been an annual tradition. I was excited to hear they were making a comeback and to be able to play a part in the event with my band mates from Masquerade makes it that much more special.”

This family friendly event will bring residents from all neighborhoods together for a community celebration with all costs covered through sponsorships.
