Fox Chase Cancer Center, a renowned institution known for its commitment to delivering cutting-edge cancer care based in Philadelphia, opened its first office in New Jersey on April 8.
Located in Voorhees, at 502 Centennial Boulevard, Suite 7, this new facility is there to help patients grapple with the challenges of cancer.
Founded in 1904, Fox Chase Cancer Center has remained at the forefront of cancer research, innovation, and patient care. As a National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center, Fox Chase remains dedicated to advancing the frontiers of science, fostering collaboration, and transforming lives through the power of knowledge and compassion, according to the center.
“Approximately 20 percent of our cherished patients currently commute from various parts of New Jersey to our Philadelphia locations,” said Robert Uzzo, president and CEO of Fox Chase Cancer Center. “We are thrilled to extend our compassionate care closer to their homes.”
The strategic placement of the Voorhees office enhances Fox Chase’s unwavering commitment to accessibility and convenience for patients, he added.
At the heart of the Voorhees office are providers, including Alexander Kutikov, chair of the Department of Urology; Eric Horwitz, chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology; Sameer Patel, chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; and Andres Correa, director of research for the Department of Urology.
“We have twice been named a national top 10 percent provider in national surgical quality,” Uzzo noted.
The providers collectively bring decades of experience and a wealth of knowledge to the forefront of cancer care, ensuring that patients receive world-class treatment tailored to their unique needs.
“Fox Chase Cancer Center provides the same high quality care at its Cottman Avenue location, it’s Broad Street location and its network locations in Buckingham, Chestnut Hill, East Norriton and now Voorhees,” Uzzo said. “Coordination is seamless. Importantly, the physicians who will see you at the Voorhees location are the same staff physicians you would see at our main campus.”
In selecting Voorhees, Fox Chase’s leadership assessed community needs, ultimately determining that Voorhees presented an ideal opportunity to expand their reach and impact.
“We will initially offer full consults with our top physicians in Urology, Radiation Oncology and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery,” Uzzo said. “We will also provide several procedures and treatments on site. As we expand at this location, our services will expand as well.”
The Fox Chase Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center.
Looking ahead, Fox Chase remains steadfast in its commitment to expanding services at the Voorhees location in response to evolving patient needs and preferences. The center continually strives to redefine the standards of cancer care.
