Love a dog: Shelter offers Valentine’s adoption discount

In the spirit of love and companionship, Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center in Blackwood is celebrating Valentine’s Day by offering adoption specials on all dogs.

County Commissioner Jeffrey Nash – who serves as the liaison to the animal shelter – encourages the community to consider the opportunity.

“There are so many animals at the shelter just waiting to find a loving home,” he said. “Please consider opening your heart and your home to a new pet. And if you are unable to adopt right now, the shelter is always looking for donations.”

The adoption special not only aims to unite dogs with forever homes but also emphasizes the importance of giving shelter animals a second chance. Homeward Bound is dedicated to making the adoption process accessible and affordable.

Township resident and pet owner Sarah Harrison praised Homeward Bound for the adoption special. She got her dog from another facility two years ago.

“Adopting Max was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” she noted. “He brings so much joy and love into my life every day. I think the Valentine’s Day adoption specials are a fantastic idea. It not only gives dogs a chance for a loving home, but also provides families with an affordable opportunity to experience the incredible bond that comes with pet ownership.

“There’s something truly special about the love and companionship a pet brings,’ Harrison added. “If you’re ready for the commitment, it’s a wonderful way to enrich your life. I’m grateful for Homeward Bound and the work they do to connect pets with loving families.”

The adoption center, located at 125 County House Road, invites the public to visit during its normal operating hours, Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Those who are not ready to adopt but still wish to contribute can provide a donation to Homeward Bound. For more information on the center, potential adopters, donors, and animal lovers can visit homewardboundnj.org.
