Job applications accepted for summer camp

Moorestown’s parks and recreation department is now accepting job applications for summer camp positions. The deadline is Friday, March 8.

Anyone 16 and above can apply and qualified teachers are also needed as site supervisors. All applications will be scheduled for an interview after the deadline. Applications for Counselor in Training (CIT) positions are also open with the same deadline. They are for 14- and 15-year-olds to assist in all summer camp programs.

Camps will begin the week after school is out in June and last generally between four and six weeks. Sessions are mostly half day, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at various schools and parks in Moorestown. Camps for young children ages 4 and 5 are held at South Valley Elementary School Monday through Thursday from 8:45 a.m. to noon. Baker and Roberts schools have camp for kindergarten through sixth grade, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There will be a break in sessions for the fourth of July holiday and the following day.

Theatre Camp is a six-week program from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and there are specialty camps for sports, arts, baking/culinary, robotics and pottery. The special needs camp is a four-week program that requires certified special education teachers. Regular camp counselor positions are also open for the camp to anyone interested in a career in disability services.

Applications can be found on www.moorestownrec.com under Volunteering and Information. The drop-down menu will show both Apply for Job Opportunities and Apply to be a Counselor In Training.
