Glassboro man walking in bicycle lane fatally hit by car

A 31-year-old Glassboro man died after getting hit by a car as he was walking in the bicycle lane on Greentree Road on Dec. 27, according to the Washington Township Police Department.

Patrol officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Greentree Road at approximately 9:31 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2020 Chevy Silverado driven by a 55-year-old Sewell man, was traveling northbound on Greentree Road approaching the intersection with Chapel Heights Road. A pedestrian, later identified as Quinel D. Harris, was walking northbound on Greentree Road in the bicycle lane. While the pedestrian was in the roadway, the Chevy made contact with the pedestrian. As a result of the impact, the pedestrian was transported to Cooper Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries on Dec. 30, police said.
