Burlington County officials urging caution due to flooding

The Burlington County Commissioners and Burlington County Office of Emergency Management are urging residents to use caution while traveling through flooded areas impacted by last night’s storm.

Heavy rains totaling over three inches in some areas of the county have caused road flooding in numerous areas of the county, including Southampton, Maple Shade and Riverside. Officials stressed that motorists who see water across the road should avoid driving through it.

The Burlington County Office of Emergency Management is in close communication with the National Weather Service and local first responders and emergency officials concerning flooding on the Rancocas Creek.

Both the north and south branches reached minor flood stages earlier this morning, but officials are closing monitoring them in case conditions worsen.
