The Gloucester County Veterans Affairs and the county board of commissioners presented Debra Valcourt-Sherman a certificate of commendation for her grandfather James R. Campbell, who served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a private first class officer. Born in Delaware and a resident of Williamstown, Campbell received many medals for his service, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart medal with Bronze Oakleaf Cluster.
