LGBTQIA+ Family and Friends Winter Craft at 7 p.m. at the Moorestown Library. Join Moorestown Pride for an LGBTQIA+ Family and Friends Winter Craft Night. This program is part of a monthly series of family gatherings, teen groups and support groups for the LGBTQIA+ community hosted by Moorestown Pride. Register at www.moorestownlibrary.org.

From Selfish Beginnings: Tracing the Evolutionary Origins of Human Cooperation at 7 p.m. at the Moorestown Library. This lecture begins by outlining the uniqueness of human cooperation. It then discusses why the evolution of human cooperation has been called one of biology’s great mysteries. Finally, it introduces various explanations for understanding how cooperation evolved in humans and evaluates each of the explanations using data from current hunter-gatherers. Virtual Meditation Circle at 7:30 p.m. Meditation is a practice that brings many benefits to our health and wellbeing. In this group you can also experience breathing and other relaxation techniques. SATURDAY, Dec. 16

STEAM Time at 9:30 a.m. at the Moorestown Library.

Holiday Dance Party (ages zero to six) at 10 a.m. at the Moorestown Library. Get ready to move. Listen to some holiday music and dance the morning away.

ESL Conversation Group at 11:30 a.m. at the Moorestown Library. This class is for intermediate/advanced ESL students. The goal of this six-class program is to help increase vocabulary, improve pronunciation, apply appropriate grammar and learn idioms. Please call (856) 234-0333 x2 to receive a self-evaluation form. Once the form is returned, you will be contacted by the instructor to confirm your spot in the class.

Inspiring Craft Day at 1 p.m. at the Moorestown Library. Children ages 5-12 are welcome to join the library’s Inspiring Craft Day. Teen volunteers will help children create crafts with breast cancer patients in mind. These crafts will be delivered to local cancer centers along with goodie bags that participants will create at a later event. Register at www.moorestownlibrary.org.

Concert: Moorestown Madrigals at 3:30 p.m. at the Moorestown Library. Each December, the student performers of the Moorestown High School Madrigals give the gift of stirring and uplifting acapella music to our community by performing in the Moorestown schools and at a host of public and private events throughout the area. This award-winning group of students is under the direction of Caela Johnson, Director of Choral Music at Moorestown High School. This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Moorestown Library.

SUNDAY, Dec. 17

STEAM Time at 1 p.m. at the Moorestown Library.

The West Jersey Chamber Music Society continues its 2023–’24 season with “Christmas Celebration: Music for Choir and Brass” at 7:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown. The holiday season comes alive with joyous selections from composers new and old, including Mark Shepperd’s “A Carol Fantasy”, sung by the West Jersey Chamber Chorale and highlighted by the sparkling tones of Timberdale Brass. Congregational participation is welcomed. Tickets at the door are $28 ($20 for seniors or students over 18). Children 18 and under are admitted free. Learn to Weave on a Cardboard Loom with Schuyler McClain at 1 p.m. at the Moorestown Library. Join local artist Schuyler McClain for an introduction to loom weaving using a lightweight cardboard loom. All skill levels from beginner to intermediate are welcome.
