Fall recreation in Moorestown

The Moorestown recreation center will offer three sessions of Pies for Thanksgiving, an opportunity for budding bakers to make dough and fillings from scratch. Each participant will take home pumpkin and apple cinnamon pies.

The first session will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 21, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.; the second on Tuesday, Nov. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m.; and the third on Wednesday, Nov. 22, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

The sixth annual 3 on 3 Turkey Tournament will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 22, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Church Street rec center. There are 10 divisions: five for boys and five for girls in fourth through eighth grade. Register as an individual participant and teams will be assigned.

The 16th annual flag football charity tournament, the Moorestown Charity Bowl, will be held on Friday, Nov. 24, at Wesley Bishop fields. There are youth divisions – coed recommended for grades three, four, five, six, seven and eight – a coed division for high-school students and two adult coed divisions, under 30 and over 30.

Adult teams must have two women players and can join a team with six to 10 players. Team members can design uniforms for prizes and raise money for local charities, including Moorestown Parks & Rec Financial Assistance and the Children of MEND (Moorestown Ecumenical Neighborhood Development).

Each team will play three, 20-minute games back to back. Flags will be provided, but footballs are needed. Visit charitybowl.weebly.com to register or email [email protected] with any questions. For other info, visit www.moorestownrec.com.
