Harrison Township Elementary School recently celebrated colleague Janet Core, who died from colon cancer in 2013. Every year, school students and staff wear green – Core’s favorite color – and contribute to a memorial scholarship in her name for sixth graders.
Core was a lifelong resident of Mullica Hill, and her two children, Laura and Nick, attended the elementary school, where their mother started her career as an instructional aide, then became a teacher.
Core was said to have made the world a better place.
