Clear the cooking area: Make sure your cooking area is clear of clutter and combustibles.
Watch your clothing: Loose sleeves and long accessories can catch fire. Opt for short, close-fitting sleeves and keep jewelry in your jewelry box.
Turn pot handles in: Twist them inward, away from the stove’s edge to avoid fire but also to prevent spills and accidents.
