Trunk or treat at Rev it Up

Rev it Up in Berlin recently hosted its annual trunk or treat at Luke Avenue Park for an early celebration of Halloween in conjunction with the fall fest.

Rev it Up owner Dee Ann Wilcox looks forward to the event as an opportunity to meet new families.

“We had a great turnout … Kids and parents dressed up,” said Wilcox, who wore a Wonder Woman costume. “I think this year was bigger and better than ever.”

Rev it Up is a martial arts gym that focuses on children and young adults. For kids who aren’t ready to tackle martial arts, it offers dozens of camps and classes, including a popular summer camp each year.

Rev it Up also offers a monthly Parents Night Out on Fridays; parents can drop their kids off from 6:30 to 9 p.m. for gym activities. This month’s version will evoke Halloween, so youngsters can wear costumes and compete in a contest for the best outfit.

“For the parents, go out and do whatever you’d like to do,” Wilcox said. “We’ll take care of the kids for the night.”

Rev it Up will host a Parents Night Out fundraiser in November and a “school’s out” event on Nov. 9 and 10, in conjunction with Veterans Day.
