The church’s Thanksgiving pie sale will take place in its Fellowship Hall and will raise funds for activities.

Richwood United Methodist Church will host its Thanksgiving pie sale on Tuesday, Nov. 21, two days before the holiday, at its Fellowship Hall.

Anyone from the Mullica Hill community is invited, and guests need not be church regulars. Pie orders will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. All goods are homemade by volunteers from the church on the day before pickup and the day of the event.

Pies will be available for $14 in three flavors: pumpkin, apple crumb and coconut custard. The church expects to produce more than 100 of them.

“We take orders for these and make them in house in time for Thanksgiving,” said church administrator Mildred Herman. “The last few years, we’ve made about 110 pies. I’m sure not all of them lasted until Thanksgiving. I cut mine that night.”

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the church itself. Orders must be placed by Sunday, Nov. 12, and can be placed in person at the church or by calling its office at (856) 589-0874. Payment will be due when pies are picked up. Those looking to volunteer for the pie making can call the above number to reach Amey Woolam, according to the church newsletter.

The Fellowship Hall and Richwood UMC are located across the street from each other on Richwood Road, just off of Mullica Hill Road. The event is one of two major bake sales planned for the holiday. A cookie sale will take place on Saturday, Dec. 9, with baking for it planned for Saturday Nov. 11.
