The Mullica Hill library will host a free event for teens interested in arts and crafts on Friday at 3 p.m.

Teen Crafts: Choose Any is open to all teens from 13 to 17. As the name suggests, the event gives teens the opportunity to craft pieces of art with no restrictions on theme or the type of art.

Teen librarian Crysta Miller came up with the concept.

“The teen craft event coming up is like a ‘buffet’ of crafts,” she explained. “I have several materials and ideas, and I couldn’t choose just one, so I figured I would let the teens choose.”

A variety of materials for the crafts will be provided by the library, including canvases for painting, jewelry making materials, string for friendship bracelets, sand art and clay. Participants can work alone or with others and are welcome to make more than one craft.

” … It’ll be an afternoon to hang out and have some creative freedom,” Miller noted. “All participants can take home their projects as well.”

While there is no cost to attend and a library card is not required, participants need to register before the event at the Gloucester County Library System website. Each attendee for Teen Craft: Choose Any needs to fill out a form separately and include first and last name, email address and phone number.

The craft session is one of many teens can participate in at the library. Upcoming are a Teen Film Club event on Thursday Oct. 26, at 5:45 p.m., and a Teen STEAM Club gathering on Friday, Nov. 3, at 3 p.m.
