Mount Laurel Calendar

Wednesday, Sept. 9

Preschool Storytime: Ages 3 to 5 years. 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Join in for stories, songs, and rhymes as this event explores a new theme every week. This storytime helps children build early literacy skills. No registration required. Participants are also invited to stay after the event for gardening, playtime, and a craft.

​​Tai Chi for Health: Adults only. 4 to 5 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Certified instructor Bob Stanton teaches tai chi, a gentle exercise that can improve muscle tone, flexibility, and coordination. It can be done seated or standing. Registration required at www.mtlaurel.lib.nj.us. Participants will receive a Zoom link the day before the event. 

Friday, Sept. 11

Toddler/Preschool Fun and Fitness: Ages 2 to 5 years. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Join Housel un and Fitness for an interactive fitness show for preschoolers. Perfect for children who love to move, dance, and play. Registration is required at www.mtlaurel.lib.nj.us.

Knitting and Crocheting: Ages 18 and up only. 1 to 3 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. A knitting and crochet group invites adults to either bring a project, or get help if they’re just starting out. Participants will meet at the tables in the Collaboration Zone next to the cafe area. No registration is required.

Virtual Chess Club: Ages 8 to 14 years. 3 to 4 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. As part of an NJHS Leadership project, Varshitha K. and team are hosting a virtual chess club that runs throughout the rest of summer. Registration is required at www.mtlaurel.lib.nj.us.

Saturday. Sept. 12

Mt. Laurel Garden Club Membership Drive: Adults 18 and up. 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Mount Laurel Library lobby. Curious about the township garden club? Stop by this informational table to ask questions, pick up info, and fill out an application. No registration required.

Teen Newspaper: Ages 10 to 17. 3 to 4 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Teens are invited to join in on the production of a publication created by and made for teens. Participants will meet in Discord and create in Canva. Minimum age for Discord is 13, so any participants under this age will need their parents or caregiver to set up their account. Registration is no longer required.

Monday, Sept. 14

Move and Groove: Ages 2 to 5. 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Mount Laurel Library– Library Lawn. Join in for this weekly outdoor event where participants will be able to celebrate music through rhymes, songs, and dance-alongs. This program will give kids a chance to learn new dance moves and get active. No registration required. This event is weather permitting.

Tuesday, Sept. 15

Toddler Storytime: ages 18 months to 3 years. 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Mount Laurel Library – Outdoor Pavillion. Join in for songs, stories, and rhymes as a new theme is explored each week. No registration required.

Tuesday Mahjong: For adults. 1 to 4 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library – Craft Room. Mahjong is a popular tile-based game of strategy, skill, and luck. Some experience is recommended. Participants may bring their own National Mahjong League 2022 card and a Mahjong set. No registration required.
