The Jadon Strong Foundation’s second annual All Gas, No Brakes car and bike show will take place on Saturday, Aug. 5, at Moorestown High School (MHS).
The 10 a.m. event – hosted by the YouTube channel Mod2Fame – will feature car and bike clubs and all vehicle makes and models. There will be food trucks, a DJ, a 50/50 raffle and trophies for cars and bikes.
There will also be a bin for people to donate back-to-school supplies or filled backpacks to benefit the foundation’s mission of providing support to families faced with pediatric brain cancer.
“Watching people have a good time and have fun and literally enjoy the moment and live for that day, in that time, in that moment, with their family and their friends, is truly what fills me up,” said foundation founder Caisse Gore.
Gore started the organization to honor her 18-year-old son, Jadon Phillips, who died last year after battling glioblastoma brain cancer for 13 months. The foundation’s site describes Phillips as someone who, from the age of 5, exhibited an extraordinary sense of strength on the football field, a sport he played for his entire life.
Phillips lived a life full of joy, energy and positivity, and he always kept everyone smiling and laughing, his mother said. All Gas, No Brakes is designed to bring families and friends together to honor him and support other children battling pediatric brain cancer.
“From the time he (Jadon) woke up in the morning to the time I could get him to go to sleep at night, he was just literally all gas, no brakes,” Gore recalled.
“ … I call him a bucket filler; what a bucket filler Jadon was. He was a bucket-filler versus a bucket-dipper. You’re pouring in or you’re pouring out. He was always pouring into others. Always.”
The foundation hosted Family Field Night: Ultimate Frisbee and a 5K run/walk earlier this year and will host its second annual Night of Hope winter gala in February. The events are special to Gore, and her goal is to see the foundation help a minimum of 10 families next year.
“We would love to see people come out and just enjoy the day and the festivities that we’re bringing forth for them to enjoy,” she noted, “all the while trying to raise more money and raise awareness for brain cancer and so many families that are battling right now.”
“We want to be able to help as many families as we can; we just really need the community support … It’s so important to me to be able to do this. I want to be able to sustain it and really make an impact, much larger than what we’re doing right now.”
