Soccer for kids who are kindergarten and pre-kindergarten ages will be held from Monday through Thursday, Aug. 21 to 24, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Jeff Young Park.
First and second graders will have camp on the same days, from 7 to 8 p.m. The Lion Soccer Academy will lend its expertise for skill development.
Basketball camps at Maple Dawson Park for boys and girls in grades two through eight will take place Monday through Thursday, Aug. 21 to 24. Drills to improve basic skills will be run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., when campers will participate in games and mini competitions.
Shawn Anstey, head coach of the varsity boys basketball team at Moorestown High School for more than 10 years, will be the lead camp instructor.
Outdoor Games and Sports Camp for children in kindergarten through sixth grade will take place throughout August from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Jeff Young Park. Games will include soccer, basketball, dodgeball and Capture the Flag and Tag. Weekly registration is available.
Techies in grades one through sixth can take part in Drones and More, from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Aug. 28 to 31. For three hours, kids can spread out at the Young park and the New Albany Rec Center to build solar panels, windmills and drones. They will also learn about farm-to-table agriculture and food cycle conservation.
