Registration for fall sports now open

Youth soccer leagues begin on Saturday, Sept. 16, and girls field hockey clinics and leagues begin on Sunday, Sept. 17

Registration for fall youth soccer leagues is now open.

All soccer leagues run from Saturday, Sept. 16, through Saturday, Oct. 28. Matches will be played at either Wesley Bishop Field or Jeff Young Memorial Park. Players will be notified of their team assignment by either Friday, Sept. 8, or Tuesday, Sept. 12, (depending on the league). Practices begin Monday, Sept. 11, for grades one through six.

Girls field hockey clinics and leagues are now open for registration. On Sundays starting Sept. 17 for seven weeks, girls leagues for grades one and two and grades three and four will play from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Wesley Bishop Fields. These are instructional and fun leagues, no separate practices required.

Girls in grades three through six can play in a limited travel league in the South Jersey Field Hockey League. There will be one to two games per week on Sundays with mandatory practices (for safety reasons) during the week.

Girls in grades seven and eight will play in the competitive South Jersey Youth Hockey League. Participants must have experience in the sport and be Moorestown residents.

There is also an introduction to the sport for kindergarten girls for seven weeks on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. starting on Sunday, Sept. 17. All field hockey participants are required to have goggles, mouth guard, shin guards and sneakers or cleats. Sticks can be borrowed.
