Join five South Jersey skilled nursing and senior living communities for a Samba Fitness and Wellness Day on Wednesday, June 21. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place from noon to 3 p.m. on the Cambridge Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center and Cambridge Enhanced Senior Living campus in Moorestown.
Featuring a variety of interactive activities and educational opportunities, it is being co-hosted by Berlin Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Laurel Brook Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center and Mount Holly Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.
The event will start with a 30-minute Samba Fitness session. All are invited to join the dance-inspired program, which promotes exercise and movement for older adults. There will also be live entertainment and booths featuring local wellness businesses, organizations and others including Aleph Adult Day Care; Ascend Hospice; Bayada Home Care; Bratton Estate & Elder Care Attorneys; Reliant Therapy; Restore Skills; Seaton Voorhees Independent Living; Senior Helpers; Town Square; and Vitality Hospice.
Attendees can learn about various life enrichment programs that the host communities offer for residents, including Rendever virtual reality, Eldergrow therapeutic gardening and more. The event will conclude with a finale Samba class, and participants will be given Sambucha Smoothies to enjoy on their trips home.
“The teams at Cambridge Rehab and Cambridge Senior Living, Berlin, Mount Holly and Laurel Brook are excited for Samba Fitness Wellness Day,” said Kate Bauer, regional director of market development at Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports the communities. “They are all so fortunate to have an exclusive program like Samba Fitness available right on their campuses, and they look forward to sharing the experience with guests.”
The communities are spearheading the Wellness Day event with the Life Enrichment team from Marquis.
