June 14, 21 – 1-3 p.m. – Adult Vaccine Clinic at the Gloucester County Health Department, 204 E. Holly Ave., Sewell. By appointment only.

June 14 – 3-5 p.m. – STD/TB Clinic at the Gloucester County Health Department, 205 E. Holly Ave., Sewell.

June 15, 20 – 8:30-11:30 a.m. – Child Vaccine Clinic at Gloucester County Health Department, 204 E. Holly Ave., Sewell. By appointment only. On June 20, the clinic also runs from 1-3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, June 14

Washington Township Councill meeting will be held at 7 p.m.

The American Red Cross asks people to book a time to give blood or platelets now to address a recent drop in donation appointments that could lead to fewer transfusions for patients in the weeks ahead. Type O blood donors are especially needed to ensure a strong blood supply.

County library system hosts summer reading program

The Gloucester County Library System (GCLS) has announced its annual summer reading program with the theme, “All Together Now.”

The program runs from Saturday, June 24, through Wednesday, Aug. 5, and is open to readers of all ages. It is designed to encourage reading and lifelong learning, as well as to provide activities for the community. Participants will also be able to track their reading progress and earn weekly prizes.

The fun and friendship that has been fostered for a quarter century through the Washington Township Education Foundation (WTEF) will continue when the WTEF hosts its 26th Annual Golf Classic on Monday, June 26 at the White Oaks Country Club in Newfield. There are three summer orchestra camp opportunities for string students in Washington Township and the surrounding area happening at Bunker Hill Middle School this upcoming summer.

Students can participate in one of three summer camp programs – the Rock and Pop Strings Camp (July 10 – July 20) for grades 5-9, the Orchestra Workshop Camp (July 24 – August 3) for grades 5-9, and the Elementary Orchestra Camp (August 7 – August 10) for grades 4 to 5.

All camps run Monday to Thursday at Bunker Hill. Both the Rock and Pop Strings Camp and the Orchestra Workshop Camp are from 10 a.m. to noon. The Elementary Orchestra Camp hours are 10 am to 11:30 am.

A final performance will be given in the community at Bison Coffee Shop in Washington Township.

Registration is through the Washington Township Parks and Recreation Department and is open.

Ongoing:

The Washington Saves Lives Program is available for residents to use seven days a week between the hours 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. for a free ride from any bar or restaurant located within the township to their home. If you or if you know someone that may benefit from this program, please download the Uber application and use it during the designated hours.
