Cherry Hill Police investigation into carjacking leads to the arrest of three juveniles

The victim was not injured during the incident. 

The following release is from the Cherry Hill Police Department.

On Monday, April 17, 2023 at approximately 11:21 p.m., Cherry Hill Police Units responded to  500 RT. 38 in the parking lot of Walmart, for the report of an attempted carjacking which had  just occurred. The victim reported that three males quickly approached her vehicle and opened  her driver’s door while she was seated inside. 

They demanded she exit the vehicle and one of the  males displayed a handgun in his waistband. The victim drove away from the males and  immediately notified police. Arriving patrol units were able to locate the three suspects to the  rear of the shopping center and they were taken into custody.

 A Police K-9 search of the area resulted in the discovery of a handgun in close proximity to where the suspects had been located. The suspects were later identified as a 13 and a 15 year old from Camden, NJ and a 14 year old from Pennsauken, NJ. The resulting charges included Carjacking, Conspiracy, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Firearm by a Minor. The victim was not injured during the incident.
