Nicole Fellona named Medford’s officer of year for 2022
Members of the Medford Township Police Department recently met to recognize the achievements of one of their own: Nicole Fellona.
A member of the department since 2006, she has been named the township’s officer of the year for 2022. Fellona has served the community as a patrol officer, detective and School Resource Officer. A pillar in the elementary-school community, she is counted on to handle various assignments and investigations.
“She has done an excellent job providing a safe school environment for staff and students to enjoy,” noted a statement from the department command staff. “Officer Fellona has also taken on numerous community-based projects throughout her career, (including) organizing Operation Santa as well as National Night Out.”
In her latest assignment, Fellona is the coordinator of THRIVE250, a wellness initiative that provides resources as well as planned events to improve the overall wellness of department staff. The department noted its pride in Fellona’s work to develop the initiative into a tangible program to benefit officers.
For the officer of the year award, the Medford police department command staff nominates three candidates who are voted on by all personnel as the candidate who most demonstrate dedication to the force.
