Rec center continues free fitness classes

Yoga, Tai Chi and Zumba offered for the remainder of the year

Thanks to a partnership with Reconstructive Orthopedics, the rec department will continue to offer free fitness classes for the remainder of the year (that’s 10 months of free classes.)

All that is required is an account (created once per person), which is simple to set up at www.moorestownrec.com. Check out the monthly “Group Fitness – Calendar of Classes” and show up, sign in and reap the benefits of getting stronger, balanced and fit.

Free classes are offered throughout the week. Yoga is offered on Mondays and chair yoga will begin in April, also on Mondays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, tone and stretch with Sommer Bayard’s ‘Full Body Tone’ is offered or learn the practice of Tai Chi on Tuesdays with Wenrong Zou Atkins. Zumba (a fitness/dance program) is offered on Wednesdays and Zumba Gold (a gentler version) on Thursdays.

Thanks to Reconstructive Orthopedics and Moorestown resident Dr. James Sanfilippo for considering this sponsorship and helping to make it happen. Reconstructive Orthopedics recently opened a new location in Moorestown on Route 38. One unique feature is OrthoExpress, a walk-in orthopedic urgent care equipped to handle fractures, sprains or muscular trauma.

All classes will be held at the North Church Street Rec Center and can be adapted to any fitness level, including beginners. Visit www.moorestownrec.com to create an account and view the fitness class calendar.
