Battle of the Badges Blood Drive
For the second year in a row, the Washington Township police and fire departments
will be hosting a Battle of the Badges Blood Drive on Tuesday, May 2 from 10 a.m.
to 8 p.m. in the Senior Center Building located at 315 Greentree Road. This friendly competition is back by popular demand. Blood donors must choose which department they would like to “donate” for: Team Police or Team Fire. The winner will claim the winners’ plaque, as well as bragging rights for the year. Last year, Team Fire took the win, along with the plaque. Let’s see if the police team can bring home a win this year. We ask if you’re eligible to donate blood, to please consider signing up to donate at
www.redcrossblood.org and enter the sponsor code: WashingtonTownship BOB.
To find out if you’re eligible, you may visit the Red Cross website, or call 1-866-236-3276. One blood donation can save up to three lives. I look forward to seeing residents stopping in to make a difference in people’s lives at Washington Township’s second Battle of the Badges. May the best department win!

Veterans Wall at WT Municipal Building Phase IV
Washington Township is proud to announce the Veterans Wall Phase IV to honor Washington Township residents who have worn the uniform of the U.S. military. This wall honors veterans who have completed honorable service in the U.S. Armed Forces during times of conflict and non-conflict. I am proud of our veterans and want to acknowledge their dedication and sacrifice. Thanks to local donors, we will be able to give recognition to our veterans’ honorable service to our country. We are now accepting applications for Phase IV. If you are a veteran or know of any Washington Township veterans who would like to take part, please stop in or download the application forms. This information can be found at www.Townshipnj.com.
Please note that eligibility is limited to persons who have completed active-duty service in the U.S. military and have been honorably discharged. National Guard members who were deployed overseas in a combat zone are also eligible. Inclusion of a DD-214 or other form of discharge is extremely helpful.
Please contact Lori Morello, Director of Senior Affairs at (856) 589-0520 ext. 2287 for more information. We are diligently working on setting up a future date for a ceremony to honor the newly added veterans on our Veterans Wall. More updates will be shared on our social media outlets, as well as the township website. Tentative date for this event will be Dec. 14.
Coffee with the Mayor
I would like to remind residents about Coffee with the Mayor. The purpose of these
meetings is to open a constructive, positive dialogue between residents and myself, to
work together to benefit the Township. These conversations will be held the third
Thursday of every month and are limited to 30 minutes, starting promptly at 8 a.m. Each meeting will have a maximum of three residents, who must sign up in advance and send one or two questions prior to our meeting to focus the discussion and allow me to prepare some information to discuss. The deadline to sign up and send questions is 12 p.m. on the Monday before each Thursday’s meeting time. I look forward to meeting with any residents who are interested in attending. Please contact my Confidential Aide Suzie Barone at (856) 589-0575 or at [email protected].
