After a two-year hiatus, the Cherry Hill Police Department is thrilled to announce that its Junior Police Academy will be returning this August.

The academy will run from August 1 through August 5. Activities include physical fitness, school safety and bullying, drug awareness, traffic safety, introduction to special units, crime scene processing and fingerprinting, a tour of the Juvenile Detention Center and a visit to the Cherry Hill Fire Department Headquarters.

Participants must be a resident of Cherry Hill Township, 11-14 years old (11 years old as of July 31, 2022), in good academic standing, must be able to participate in moderate physical activity and have no criminal background or disciplinary issues.

Participants will explore firsthand various aspects of law enforcement, with a curriculum developed by the Police Department that will emphasize the importance of qualities such as physical fitness, staying drug free, teamwork and respect.

Enrollment is limited. A mandatory parent and cadet orientation will be conducted before the Academy begins.
