Cherry Hill Public Schools host annual S.T.A.R. games on Friday

Games celebrate athletic accomplishments of students with special needs.

More than 150 students in Grades K-12 from across the Cherry Hill School District will gather on Friday, May 13 at Cherry Hill High School West for the S.T.A.R. Games, an event designed to celebrate the talents of students with special needs and provide them with the opportunity to compete at a high level.
Participants in the S.T.A.R. (Specially Talented Athletes Recognized) Games will compete in track and field events, including the 40-yard dash, high-five relay race, shot put (softball throw), standing long jump, discus (Frisbee throw), and low hurdles, as well as games such as wiffle ball and beach volleyball. The event will be held at the Jonas Morris Stadium complex behind Cherry Hill West. Events will begin at 10 a.m. with awards at 1 p.m.
The S.T.A.R. games are run by teachers and administrators from the Cherry Hill Public Schools, with students from Cherry Hill High Schools East and West assisting.
