The Rowan College of South Jersey varsity golf team won big at the NJCAA Region 19 Championships at Ashbrook Country Club.
Roadrunner Golf finished with 728 points, just behind County College of Morris with 650 which earned them 2nd place in the state and the region. The top teams were County College of Morris, RCSJ Gloucester, Ocean County College and Raritan Valley.
“Rowan College of South Jersey is not just a premier educational facility, our sports teams are quickly expanding and becoming fierce competitors,” Director Frank J. DiMarco said. “We are very proud of the Roadrunners as these are their first honors since returning to full varsity status post COVID.”
Two Roadrunners played well enough to represent Rowan College of South Jersey NJCAA National Tournament at Chautauqua Golf Club in New York June 6 through 10. Congratulations to Freddie Ramos and Tyler Geatens who earned first and second team All-Region XIX honors.
“The Roadrunners had an outstanding performance during their 2022 return. Being a student athlete is not an easy balance. We are very proud of this accomplishment while also carrying a full-time course load,” Commissioner Lyman Barnes, liaison to education said.

The Roadrunners practice at the Pitman Golf Course, an 18-hole regulation golf course, practice putting green, driving range and a full-service clubhouse restaurant and bar. The golf course is owned and operated by the County of Gloucester and the services provided are under the direction of the Board of County Commissioners.
