Firm celebrates next year’s opening of assisted living center

Residents and officials sign pillar on completed building.

A senior-living investment and development firm hosted a “topping out” ceremony last month to mark formal completion of a building at Arbor Terrace Marlton, an assisted  living and memory-care community expected to open early next year.

During the event, Capital Senior Housing (CSH) representatives oversaw the framing of the cupola roof craned onto the cupola structure to “top out” – or formally complete – the building by attaching its highest structural feature. CSH and the builder, IMC Construction, invited residents and community leaders to sign a pillar on the newly constructed site.

Joe McElwee, principal of development for CSH, welcomed locals to the ceremony to be a part of township history on a project that broke ground last April.

“We are happy to be providing this new addition to the Marlton community and are looking forward to coming together with them to commemorate this new part of their local history,” he said.

According to the firm, the Arbor Terrace building — designed by architectural firm Meyer Design — is three stories high and has a total of 76,500 square feet. The common space of 30,000 square feet has amenities like a theater, bistro and hair salon.

The community will consist of 60 assisted-living apartments and 27 memory-care units,  located near medical facilities, restaurants and The Promenade at Sagemore shopping center.

Georgia-based Arbor Company will oversee the community. President Judd Harper noted that once signs advertising the Arbor Terrace Marlton began to appear, residents  called the company for more information.

“As soon as our signs went up, we began receiving dozens of calls from interested seniors who want to learn more, and most have already expressed interest in preserving their favorite apartment,” Harper said.

“It is encouraging (that) they are as excited as we are for Arbor Terrace to open soon.”
