Cherry Hill Public Library holds “How To” festival this Saturday

Events will be happening throughout the day from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pre-registration may be required.

Cherry Hill Public Library is celebrating Makers Day with a How To festival on Saturday, March 26 with a slew of events. Makers Day is celebrated throughout the state to inspire libraries to showcase and highlight STEM and maker culture, enhancing life-long learning.

The library will be holding the following events throughout the day on March 26 in person at the Cherry Hill Public Library. Pre-registration may be required.

Backyard Birds with Wild Birds Unlimited: 10:30 a.m. to noon. Half Conference Center.

Join Cherry Hill’s own Wild Birds Unlimited as we learn how to turn our backyards into a sanctuary for both ourselves and the wild birds in our neighborhoods. This program is part of the CHPL How To Festival, in partnership with NJ Makers Day. Register by calling 856-667-0300 x2.

Robotics with Camden Catholic High School: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Multicultural Room.

Meet students from Camden Catholic High School’s Robotics program! They’ll offer demonstrations with their own robots, present on their design and creation processes, and discuss their experiences competing in robotics competitions. No registration required! This program is part of the CHPL How To Festival, in partnership with NJ Makers Day.

Craft Demo Tables: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Art Gallery (downstairs).

Different crafters will be demonstrating their work as part of the CHPL How To Festival, in partnership with NJ Maker Day. No registration required. Learn how to make candles, paper quill, design D&D terrains and Animal Crossing terraform, loom weaving, and 3D printing. No registration required. This program is part of CHPL How To Festival, in partnership with NJ Makers Day.

Craft Supply Swap: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Half Conference Center.

Bring your own bag to fill with craft supplies donated by fellow CHPL patrons. Supplies will include fabric, yarn, beads, silk flowers and needlepoint kits. If you have craft supplies that you want to donate to the event, please drop them off in the library’s Youth Services Department on the upper level before March 24. No registration required. This program is part of the CHPL How To Festival, in partnership with NJ Makers Day.

LEGO Build Challenge: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Children’s Story & Craft Room (upstairs).

Stop by and have fun with different LEGO challenges. Every half hour we will have a different challenge! No registration required. This program is part of the CHPL How To Festival, in partnership with NJ Makers Day.

Plant Seeds from the CHPL Seed Library: 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Half Conference Center.

Get your 2022 garden started! We will be using seeds from our very own CHPL Seed Library and materials donated by the Cherry Hill Home Depot. Register by calling 856-667-0300 x2. This program is part of the CHPL How To Festival, in partnership with NJ Makers Day.
