Bethel Ame Moorestown Celebrates the Christmas Season with Jazz Vespers

Make a Joyful Noise! will be held on Dec. 11 at 4 p.m. at Bethel Ame Church in Moorestown.

Bethel Ame Church invites the community to celebrate the Christmas holidays with a Jazz Vespers service. Make a Joyful Noise! will be held on Dec. 11 at 4 p.m. It will be held at the church, located at 512 N. Church Street in Moorestown.

Jazz Vespers is a new take on an old service and is typically held in the late afternoon or early evening. The service includes prayers, poetry, reflection, and music, specifically, Jazz. This is the seventh anniversary of Bethel’s Jazz Vespers. The music offered will be a mixture of jazz and holiday music and all appropriate to get listeners into the spirit of the season.

Appearing this year will be The Diane Monroe and Tony Miceli Duo. Monroe on jazz violin, and Miceli on the vibraphone, are two of Philadelphia’s most revered jazz artists and have been playing together since the mid-1980s.  Both Monroe and Miceli have long histories of forging rich collaborations in Philadelphia and beyond.

A donation of $20 is requested and all funds go to support the activities of the 2022 Women’s Day Committee at Bethel. Seating is limited and COVID protocols are in place. All those attending must wear a mask while in the building. Tickets should be reserved in advance by calling the church at (856) 235-3152. Tickets are also available through Givelify. Additional information is available at www.bamec.org.
