According to Evesham Township, Evesham Fire-Rescue will be escorting Santa around town this year in designated zones each evening from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. from Friday, Dec. 10 to Monday, Dec. 20.
A township map is included with this announcement, as well as a neighborhood listing. The neighborhood listing does not indicate a specific order. According to Evesham Fire-Rescue, a majority of active members support this change. This update was necessary to allow greater member participation, allowing them to communicate more clearly to the residents a date and time that we will be in their neighborhood, and account for delays due to emergency calls and weather.
Instead of an unpredictable neighborhood schedule spread across 8 to 10 hours on a single day, Evesham Fire-Rescue will now have a specific date for your neighborhood and can provide a two-hour window. The township will be able to escort Santa a bit slower, and share some cheer with Santa and his helpers on its apparatus, along with some holiday lighting.
Dates after Dec. 20 have been reserved for weather and emergency call volume makeups, and Evesham Fire-Rescue will be able to communicate any makeup dates to the residents through its social media channels.
