On Thursday, Dec. 2, 13-year-old 8th grader Veronica James from Voorhees, NJ and Sew Classy Princess Parties based in Wilmington, DE, visited preschools that specifically serve low-income families to inspire young African American girls.
James, dressed as the Frog Princess, read her story, sang a song, taught a dance lesson, gave out gifts and posed for photos with the children.
She hopes to pass along the message that “with hard work, you can achieve anything.” James was so excited to be portraying an African American princess.
“It’s important that young black girls see a princess that looks like them,” she said.
Peck has been providing princesses for parties, holiday visits and events to the tri-state area for 5 years, and is thrilled that her newest and youngest princess has such a passion for community service.
