Let’s get ready for some football! The 14th Annual Moorestown Charity Bowl flag football tournament will be held on Friday, Nov. 26 at Wesley Bishop Turf Football Fields in Moorestown.
The one-day event – open to teams of all ages – will feature multiple flag-football games, music, food and prizes. Proceeds from this event will benefit The Children of MEND Holiday fun, Moorestown Parks & Rec Scholarships and the Boys & Girls Club of Camden County.
“This is a day for the community to come together and raise money for local organizations,” said Deborah Flick, Friend of MEND Board Member, who was approached three years ago to spearhead this event.
In recent years, Flick expanded the list of recipients to include The Children of MEND Holiday Fund and Moorestown Parks & Rec Scholarships.
“There are lots of opportunities for individuals from Moorestown and neighboring towns to help support families in the community, especially during the holiday season,” explained Flick. “Over the years, while working at the Moorestown Recreation Department I’ve had the privilege of getting to know many MEND families, and I see how impactful these donations are in helping them. Generally, I find that many people want to help, but do not know how. The Charity Bowl is the perfect opportunity to get involved!”
Flag football teams can participate in the event for a $250 donation. Teams will be divided into divisions ranging from grade school to adult teams. Teams are encouraged to create their own fun uniforms for a chance to win prizes.
Donations and sponsorship opportunities are available. Current sponsors include Garrison Architects, Turnkey Title, LLC and Thomas/Boyd Communications. To register your team or donate, please visit https://charitybowl.weebly.com/.
