The Moorestown Library is excited to announce our first ever Fall Reading Challenge!
For years young readers have loved reading books and winning prizes in the Summer Reading and Winter Reading programs, so this year we thought we’d take the next logical step: a Fall Reading Challenge.
This new program comes with a twist designed to introduce kids to exciting nonfiction books from the Scholastic True Books series available on the library’s website through TrueFlix. Throughout November, readers in grades second through sixth can read 10 books of their choosing on TrueFlix and earn a $10 gift card to Barnes and Noble.
Here’s how it works:
- Select books to read by going to MoorestownLibrary.org/Kids and clicking on the TrueFlix button. You will need your library card number to log in.
- Choose a category of books you’d like to browse, like “Extreme Nature,” “Disasters,” “Animal Kingdom,” or “Ancient Civilizations.”
- Select a book and read it, either on your own or by using the “Read to Me” feature to hear the book read aloud to you.
- Log into READsquared to sign up for the TrueFlix Fall Reading Challenge and record your book. You can use the account you made for Summer Reading or create an account by going to MoorestownLibrary.org/Kids and clicking on the TrueFlix Fall Reading Challenge button.
- Enter the titles of books you’ve read and add a short review (at least 50 words) telling us what you learned.
- Enter at least 10 books by November 30 and earn a $10 Barnes and Noble gift card!
If you’re new to the library, READSquared, or TrueFlix, or if all this just sounds a little techy for your taste, fear not! Friendly children’s librarians are eager to introduce you to these resources and help make this reading challenge a fun and successful experience for your family. Call 856-234-0333 x 5 or email [email protected] to connect with a librarian.
We can’t wait to hear all about the exciting books you read and interesting information you learn on TrueFlix this Fall!
Many thanks to the Friends of the Moorestown Library for sponsoring the TrueFlix Fall Reading Challenge.
