AWA partners with Subaru for Camden Make a Dog’s Day event on Oct. 22

The event will be held from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Von Neida Park in Camden NJ

On Oct. 22, Animal Welfare Association will be teaming up with Subaru of America, Inc. for Camden Make a Dog’s Day, the local activation of the third annual National Make a Dog’s Day.

The event will be held from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Von Neida Park in Camden NJ. The day will include family and dog friendly festivities including a Trunk or Treat featuring decorated Subaru vehicles, dog themed carnival games, pumpkin decorating, dog treats, dog ID tags, ask the vet station, and more.

Dozens of Subaru volunteers will be helping out at the event with the prize tables and pet food giveaways. AWA staff members will be on hand to answer dog care questions and conduct dog demonstrations and games.

“We are very excited to be hosting this event with Subaru of America for the City of Camden Community,” says Jeana Hoffman, Animal Welfare Association’s Event Planner and Business Liaison. “This is a fun way to interact with residents while providing them with free treats and necessities for their canine family members.”

The event started in 2019, when Subaru established National Make a Dog’s Day as a national holiday on Oct. 22 as part of the automaker’s commitment to supporting the well-being of pets. The day is aimed at helping the hard-to-adopt shelter dogs find loving homes and encourages people to do something special for their dog to “make” their day and share their happy dog on social media using #MakeADogsDay.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early. Children must attend with a responsible adult. Masks will be required to attend the event and all dogs must be on a non-retractable leash.
