Residential Fire in Medford Township, leads rescued victim to be transported to hospital

Residential Fire Breaks out in Medford Township, sending rescued victim to the hospital

On Aug. 30, at 1:20 pm the Medford Township Police, Fire and EMS were dispatched to a residential fire on Hastings Ave, Medford. Upon the arrival of the emergency service units, there was visible smoke and fire showing from the rear of the residence. Neighbors advised Police that there was a victim possibly trapped inside of the residence. This information was relayed to the Fire Department who initiated a rapid search of the residence locating a 70-year-old male in a rear bedroom.

The male was removed from the residence and transported to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia PA by Cooper Aeromedical Helicopter. The victim is listed in stable condition at this time. The residence sustained extensive fire and smoke damage. No

other injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation by the Medford Township Fire Marshalls Office and Medford Township Police Department. The Evesham Fire-Rescue, Mt. Laurel Fire Department, Medford Lakes Fire Department, and Tabernacle Rescue assisted at the incident.

This is the second time in the past three months that the Medford Township Fire Department has saved an unconscious victim from a residence that was on fire.
