Many have heard about the Governor’s Executive Order 196 and the allowance now for parent(s)/guardian(s) to attend your daughter/son’s basketball games. Shawnee High School will be following the Olympic Conference guidelines to this Order. All participating players/performers in each level game (Frosh/JV/Varsity) will be permitted two parent/guardians to attend their game. Shawnee Athletics is very excited to allow parents/guardians to watch their son/daughter in-person play the sport they love. The Olympic Conference, which Shawnee is a member, is allowing HOME team parents only to attend each home event. Parents/Guardians will not be permitted to attend AWAY events.
We are requesting help on your end to make this experience safe for everyone’s well-being and health:
- Parents/Guardians must pre-register for attendance at www.lrhsd.org/AttendShawneeGames.
- Parents/Guardians cannot transfer their seating to other family members or friends.
- All attendees will have temperature scans upon arrival.
- All attendees must wear masks the entire time on school grounds/facilities.
- All attendees must maintain social distancing and adhere to the spacing on the bleachers which will be marked by green dots.
- There will be disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer available for your use. Upon arrival, please tell our game day security your name and present an ID for entry into the game.
All freshman parents will enter and exit via the back gym door entry way. All JV/Varsity/Dance team parents will enter the main gym door entry. We will need to clear the gym after JV
competition before allowing Varsity parent(s)/guardian(s) to enter the gym. We request that parent/guardians arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to scheduled game time. This will help alleviate waiting time for you prior to entry. If a JV parent/guardian has a daughter/son who competes at the JV and Varsity level please let our game day security know upon entry. You will be given a wristband to wear.
Shawnee Athletics is proud of the hard work by our student athletes and coaches. We are excited to have parents now attend to see this hard work up close. We will also continue to livestream all games played in the main gym for the rest of the season at www.lrhsd.org/ShawneeSportsLive.
