In unofficial results released by Burlington County at 8:22 p.m. tonight, Democratic candidates Karen Cohen, Nikitas Moustakas and Fozia Janjua are leading in the election for Mt. Laurel Township Council over Republican candidates Irwin Edelson, Kurt Folcher and Sandra Pratt. At the time of reporting, Cohen has 12,512 votes, Moustakas has 12,203 votes and Janjua has 12,063 votes; Pratt has 7,888 votes while incumbents Folcher and Edelson have 7,789 and 7,716 votes, respectively.
Further unofficial local election results include the two Mt. Laurel Township Fire Commissioners seats, with Phil Roura receiving 16,208 votes and Robert Shestack receiving 15,977.
In the Mt. Laurel Township School District Board of Education election’s unofficial results for three available seats, incumbent Christine Dickson has 7,357 votes while challengers Susan Fortuna and Michael Magee received a respective 7,446 and 5,562 votes. Tracie Pasker has 5,385 votes, Kristen Weisman has 5,359 votes, incumbent Diane Blair has 4,424 votes and Michael Gallagher has 5,281 votes. Meanwhile, Paula D. Lee ran uncontested for Lenape Regional High School District’s Mt. Laurel Township seat, garnering 16,448 votes.
In other unofficial election results, the presidential race showed a strong turnout for Joseph Biden in Burlington County, with 113,527 voters choosing the Democratic candidate over Republican Donald J. Trump, who trailed with 62,520 votes.
In the U.S. Senate race, Burlington County voters also cast more ballots for Democrat Cory Booker over Republican challenger Rikin “Rik” Mehta, with 109,836 votes for Booker to Mehta’s 62,718.
For the House of Representatives’ 3nd District seat, Democratic incumbent Andy Kim was showing a lead in unofficial results, coming in with 109,465 votes over Republican challenger David Richter’s 55,151.
The race for the two Burlington County Board Member seats has Democrats Tom Pullion and Balvir Singh pulling ahead with 104,769 and 103,438 votes, respectively, while Republicans Tinamarie Nicolo and John Adams received a respective 66,149 and 66,920 votes.
